At the beginning of chapter three Nathan talks about a summer reading assignment that all new incoming freshman were required to read for discussion on the first day. Well, I didn't have to do a reading assignment because i was in the summer session at bloomsburg. But i do remember my roommates complaining about a summer reading assignment. Another thing Nathan talked about was the RA's and trying to get everyone together with activities and such, and i noticed that the RA's at bloomsburg really do try and get everyone together in the hall. But that never works out either it doesn't work with some peoples schedules or some people just think its stupid and don't wanna go. In Rose's story she talked about her mother's career as a waitress, and i feel that i can really relate to it because i am a waitress myself. A restaurant really does need to be a structured system or it will fail. Miserably. Working in a restaurant can be very stressful and rewarding at the same time. Its stressful if you have too many tables at once or the kitchen got your order wrong or the customer just plain out is picky. Its also rewarding because i like making an impact on people and making the costumer want to come back. And when they do come back and request for me to be their server i just get a sense of accomplishment in making people happy.
